Different Kinds of Silence
The album is mostly made of one takes and recorded without click. I’ve placed the mics so close you can hear every tiny mistake: One note is too loud, another too soft, the tempo is unsteady and so on. Both the piano and me are in our most fragile selfs with the mics so close. I really just wanted it to be what it was. Therefore, this is by far my most honest, naked and human work - sometimes you can even hear me breathing.
I finished and recorded these pieces when I was steering, largely blind, broken hearted, afraid of fairly everything and in need of sleeping pills - you get the point. Since I was in a period of my life where I felt very human it just made sense to make a record that was equally fragile and vulnerable.
So, this record is completely homemade and only played by me. In many ways this should have been my first record, but sometimes a detour is the best way to get there. I sincerely hope that it finds its way to your (little) home as well and my silent album can become some sort of a noise blocker for you in your everyday life.
