Eik Octobre is a pianist and composer based in Copenhagen. His music is minimalistic, majestic, simple, complex and elegant - but most of all: cinematic. Eik Octobre is a releasing artist and film composer available for commissions.
The compositions of Eik Octobre consist of a Norse melancholy. His music yearns for something unknown and describes a state that is best explained and understood without words. Eik Octobre puts himself in the slipway of modern classical artists such as Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds and Jon Hopkins, introducing a new generation of artists with a more patient and simple approach.
Though, for some time he has achieved great recognition as a composer and pianist behind the pseudonym Eik Octobre. Even though he works with classical instruments, classical music was hardly ever heard around his childhood home. His musical style is based upon the philosophy of strong simplicity. Therefore his pieces can sometimes even be played by beginners, but the music comes from a much more complex place.
Eik Octobre has released four EP’s: ‘Live Strings Session’ (2016), ‘This Is How It Feels Now’ (2018), ‘Everything Has Its Echo’ (2020) and ‘Simple Circles’ (2021). He released his full-length album entitled ‘Different Kinds of Silence’ on September 23rd 2022.
